How to Sell Courses Using AI: the CRAFT Prompt Framework
You don't sell courses with AI by asking it to write you an email. You sell with it by giving it five things every single time: a character, a result, your assets, a format, and a tweak. I call it CRAFT. Same model everyone else is using, completely different output.
Short answer: AI writes hooks, content and email sequences that sound like you and sell when you stop typing one-line requests and start feeding it assets you build once: a filled-in avatar sheet, proven hook templates, and a copy framework. The model is not the variable. Your prompt is. I give the assets away free, and the software that sends what AI writes for you is Course Creator 360. Start the 30-day trial here.
The five parts of a prompt that sells anything
I taught this live to a room of 150 course creators the week before I filmed the video above, and their reaction is why I turned it into a free download instead of a paid product. Five letters, and it works the same in ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or whatever launches next year.
| Letter | What you give AI | What it looks like in a real prompt |
|---|---|---|
| C haracter | The brain it should think with | "You are a direct response copywriter and a viral video script doctor who specializes in the first five seconds of short form videos." |
| R esult | One precise outcome, in one line | "I want 100 fresh hook ideas for a fitness coach who helps women lose baby weight in the first six months after birth." |
| A ssets | The data and examples only you have | "Use these: my 100 proven hook templates, the 10 hook formats, and my avatar sheet pasted below." |
| F ormat | Exactly how you want it handed back | "Return a markdown table with two columns: framework, and the hook in under 14 words." |
| T weak | The upgrade most people never ask for | "Now rewrite this entire prompt so next time I get the same or better output in one shot." |
Tweak is optional and it's the one that compounds. Once an output is finally right, asking AI to write the prompt that would have got you there first try makes you a better prompter in about a week. You're not memorizing prompt engineering. You're letting the machine teach you how it wants to be talked to.
All six assets I used in that training are still free. The 100 hook templates, the 10 hook formats, the avatar sheet, the email framework, all of it: download the CRAFT pack here and skip the part where you build them yourself.
"AI gives me generic garbage" is an input problem
Here is the prompt most course creators are writing, word for word off my screen: "Give me some hook ideas for a video about helping moms lose baby weight." Fifteen words, no context, no examples, no format. And then the output comes back with "Baby's first word. Wow, mom, here's why" and "Car in one hand, confidence in the other," and everyone decides AI is overrated.
I ran that same request through the CRAFT version. Nothing about the model changed. The output included "Doing crunches too early actually widens your tummy gap" and "Here's how to lose two jean sizes before baby starts crawling." Those are hooks a real person would stop for. The AI did not get smarter between the two prompts. It got fed.
About 1 in 6 people on our onboarding and demo calls tells us some version of "I'm not technical enough for this." If that's you, hear the good news in that comparison: the difference between those two outputs is not a skill you have to learn. It's three documents you paste in. That's it. The 12 prompts I actually use are already written in this exact structure so you never start from a blank box.
The one document that fixes most of your prompts
Every time you open a new chat you explain yourself again. "Hi, I'm a doctor who specializes in heart disease, I sell a $997 program, my audience is..." Stop. Write it down once.
I call it the 360 avatar template, and it holds the 15 things AI needs to know about your market to write copy that lands: your story, your product and your prices, your market's biggest fears and pain points and doubts, their dreams and desires, your authority and credibility, your competitors, their demographics and psychographics, their values and beliefs, the transformation you sell, the media they consume, their common objections, why your offer is different, and the tone you want to be spoken to in.
Filling it out takes 10 or 15 minutes, and unless you change markets you will never do it again. Then it's command A, command V at the top of every prompt for the rest of your business. If you want to cheat, paste the blank template into ChatGPT's deep research, tell it who you target, and it will autofill most of it for you in a few minutes. The template is in the same free pack: grab the 360 avatar sheet, or read the 10-minute version of this process if you'd rather build it from scratch.
Hooks: 100 templates, 10 formats, and ten years of ad testing
Hooks are the lifeblood of the business. Miss the first three seconds and the other 57 don't exist. Those 100 templates came out of more than $2.5 million of ad testing across ten years, $1.5 million of it my own money, and I sorted every hook I've ever run into 10 formats. I'm confident every hook on the planet fits one of the 10.
Handing AI those two documents is what people mean when a prompt "feels trained." You're not asking a general model to be clever. You're giving it structures that already worked with money behind them and telling it to fill them in for your market. That's why the output stops sounding like a robot and starts sounding like an ad.
Content hacking: take a creator's system, keep your own voice
You've followed somebody for a year and thought, I want to write like that. You can, and you can do it without copying a single line of theirs. Here's the process.
Use a free Chrome extension that bulk-downloads a creator's last 200 videos into one folder. AI can't watch MP4s, so run that folder through a mass transcription tool (I use a paid one, I'm not affiliated with it, and free tools work fine in batches) and export VTT, SRT or plain text. Combine all 200 transcripts into one file. That file is your asset. Feed it with your avatar sheet and ask AI to extract the creator's five most frequent video types, their narrative structures, hook formats and CTA styles, then hand you a repeatable framework for each one in a table.
What comes back is not their content. It's the system underneath it, and you write your own material inside that system. We're not plagiarizing. We're building a framework from public work, which is what every good copywriter has done with swipe files for sixty years, just in an afternoon instead of a decade.
Emails: ten nurture emails from four types and five frameworks
Your email list is your permission to print money, and I mean that literally. I've sent well over 100 million marketing emails in the last ten years to a list past a million subscribers, and a single one-week Black Friday blast to that list has done over half a million dollars in sales. That only works because people got nurtured for months before the offer showed up.
Every nurture email we've ever sent falls into one of four types: a lead-in email, an engage email, a guide email, an offer email. Inside each type you pick one of five copy frameworks: SLO, BAB, PAS, the 4 Ps, or AIDA. You do not need to learn any of that. You hand the framework document to AI as an asset, along with your avatar sheet and a few emails whose style you like, and ask for 10 subject lines plus a 250 to 300 word email. I wrote my first one in about 30 seconds. Repeat it ten times and you have a sequence. Here's the hour-long version of that workflow.
Then comes the part AI can't do: something has to actually send them, space them out, tag who opened what, and pull people out of the sequence when they buy. That's what Course Creator 360 does in the background. The CRM, the automations and dozens of our proven email templates come with the subscription, so what AI writes on Tuesday is live in a nurture sequence on Tuesday instead of sitting in a Google Doc.
What still has to come from you
AI cannot invent your story, and it cannot decide what you sell. It has never met your customers, so every fear and objection it "knows" about your market is a guess until you write the real ones down. That sounds like a limitation and it's actually the whole opportunity, because your competitors are all prompting from zero. Ten minutes on the avatar sheet is the moat.
It also can't set up the plumbing. A perfect email sequence still lands in spam if your sending domain was never authenticated, and that's not a prompt problem. On Premium and Elite we do the domain, DNS and deliverability setup with you on an onboarding call, which is the least glamorous and most expensive-to-skip part of this whole thing. Premium is $147 a month as of September 2026, with a 30-day trial: the plans are here.
One honest note about the free assets. My nurture sequence is going to try to get you to join my software. I'm telling you that on purpose, because it's exactly what I'm teaching you to do, and it works. I sell to marketers, the hardest audience on earth to sell to. If it works on you, yours will work on people who aren't even looking for the seams.
The 30-minute challenge I gave that room
Reading this changes nothing. Do three things before you close the tab. Fill in the avatar sheet from the free pack, the 10 minutes that makes everything after it work. Write 10 hooks for your next video off the templates. Pick one creator you admire, pull their last 200 posts, and turn their system into your framework. That's a week of copywriting done before dinner.
Then give what you wrote somewhere to live. If you want the funnel templates, the website templates, the email sequences, the courses on how to build and market and sell all of this, plus 24/7 support from humans, that's the software: start the 30-day free trial and bring your new assets with you. It's how I've sold or helped sell $25 million of online courses, and it's how I built just shy of $8 million of my own software on top of it.
Frequently asked questions
Which AI should I use to write my course marketing?
Whichever one you already have open. I've run this framework in ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and DeepSeek and the outputs are close enough that the choice is not your bottleneck. In the email demo in the video, the model stayed the same across both attempts and only the prompt changed. Spend your energy on the assets, not on picking a tool.
Will AI-written emails sound like me?
They will if you give it your voice as an asset. Paste in 10 of your own emails, or 10 from a writer whose rhythm you like, and tell it to extract the patterns before it writes anything. Style transfer is the thing AI is genuinely great at. What it cannot do is invent your opinions, which is why the avatar sheet asks for your story and your beliefs.
Is content hacking a competitor's videos legal?
You are analyzing public content to extract structure, the same way copywriters have studied swipe files forever. You are not republishing their words. The line is simple: take the framework, never the sentences. If a line comes out of AI sounding word for word like theirs, rewrite it.
How long does this take the first time?
About 30 minutes, and most of it is the avatar sheet. After that a set of 10 hooks takes a couple of minutes, and a full nurture email takes about as long as it takes to read it. The one-time cost is building the assets, which is exactly why I hand them to you already built.
Do I need to pay extra for AI tools inside Course Creator 360?
The AI tools that build your lead magnet, your course curriculum and your offer are part of your account, not a separate line item, and the CRM and automations that send what they write are included too. If you want the precise breakdown for your plan, ask our 24/7 chat before you commit; nobody here will upcharge you into a surprise.
What should I build first if I have no list yet?
A free offer worth trading an email address for, then the nurture sequence behind it. AI writes both in an afternoon once your avatar sheet exists. Here's what separates a lead magnet that builds a list from one nobody opens.
